i love my job, but i love my summer breaks too. spending so much time with my family and doing things i want and need to do is such a welcome break from the busyness and schedules during the school year.
isla is growing like everything (one of my grandmother's sayings coming out there) and is now three years old. what?! she is enjoying summer as well, and let's us know everyday when she goes to bed saying "no school tomorrow?"
she is saying some pretty funny things these days. things i never want to forget. here are just a few:
- if she wants to watch my little pony, she will say "i wanna watch ponytails!"
- name = "nane" (as in "i know her nane!"
- green beans = "bean beans"
- sleeping beauty = "C-B-D"
- storm troopers = "star steppers"
- eyebrows = "eyebrowns"
- blueberries = "boo-berries"
while she keeps us laughing most of the time, she has also become very emotional within the last few weeks. it did begin before summer break started, so i don't think that is the reason or trigger. but, my word! she sometimes cries at the drop of a hat, or loses it over her sock not being pulled off easily. it is intense, however, it never lasts very long. a good long hug or cuddle usually puts everything back in order.
i'm sure it's just a phase. right...?
