busy as a bee stacking and unstacking her bowls

two nights ago i watched isla squeal with delight as she "surprised" her daddy by popping out from behind the curtains in her room. her little eyes lit up each time she yanked the fabric from in front of her face as he played along with her. at this moment in her life this was the most exciting game in the world.

and i enjoyed taking in all three minutes of it.

i know these moments will not last forever. she won't always think that those sheer white curtains truly conceal her tiny little body. she will grow up to realize that we were humoring her. god willing she will play the same sweet game with her babies and realize what a joy it is to be a parent.

these are the best days of my life.
