xo, marli: isla: 8 months

below are pictures from her eighth month. but, at her 9 month check up last week i found out she weighs 22 pounds. sometimes i look at her and wonder how she is growing so fast. it almost seems unreal. people tell you how fast it goes. they try to warn you. they want you to savor those precious moments. but, you can't and won't understand until you have your own babies.

and they're right... it. goes. so. fast.

she is crawling up a storm right now. sometimes so fast we have to run to deter her from a potentially hazardous situation. pulling up on the edge of the couch, the freezer door handle, the oven door handle, the coffee table, and anyone who is down on the floor with her is a new favorite. she is testing her boundaries and fearlessly exploring all options at this point.

for the most part she is still sleeping well. this past couple weeks she had a cold and was teething so that affected her eating and sleeping patterns. but, usually she will sleep for 10-12 hours each night starting at around 7:00-7:30.

enjoying the new world of solid foods, isla is a pretty good eater. and we haven't found much she doesn't like. favorites include butternut squash, any fruit of course, and oatmeal with apples. she loves the pouches of pureed food from the store. we just buy as many different ones as we can to expose her to various flavors. i also spent one sunday afternoon making the recipes from this blog post. it was both enjoyable and tiresome at the same time. it made a lot of food for a little money. isla likes everything i made. and i will do it again. but, afterward i. was. beat. dislikes so far avocado and beef with gravy (from a jar) - ick! it smelled bad and i wouldn't have eaten either.

bobby ordered a bike trailer for isla. and let me tell you, i have never seen her so content. she loves to ride in that thing. it is the cutest thing in the world!

we hadn't quarantined the brick fireplace yet at this point.
