"Everyone who has run knows that its most important value is in removing tension and allowing a release from whatever other cares the day may bring."

week five mileage: 16
had a boring 3 mile treadmill run tuesday after school then did a couple classes at the gym. completed first hill training of the season. it was cold, dark, and raining. but it was still awesome. didn't even feel the raindrops after awhile. i felt very accomplished that night. didn't get another 3 mile base run in this week. must plan better for next week. then saturday morning i ran my first ever 15k race. we are training at a 10-10:30 pace and we averaged a 9:30 pace during the race. i felt great afterward, but i am not sure if it's good to go so much faster. do i need to move up to the 9:30-10 pace group?
sunday has always been a cross training day (meaning i can do anything but run... yoga, walking, lifting weights, spin, etc). haven't really done that too much. sunday i am either working at the store or on my couch recovering from the week. but, today was different. i went to kate's candlelight restorative yoga class. it was 75 minutes of yumminess. it felt good to treat my body well.
